Devils River: Treacherous Twin to the Pecos, 1535-1900 by Patrick Dearen received the West
Texas Historical Association's Rupert Richardson Award for best book on West Texas history.

 

Log Cabin Kitty, by Donna Rubin, received the H-E-B Best Children's Book award from the
Texas Institute of Letters.

 

Richard McCaslin, author of John S. "Rip" Ford, is the 2012 recipient of the Texas State Historical
Association's Kate Broocks Bates Award for Historical Research.

 

Devils River: Treacherous Twin to the Pecos, 1535-1900 by Patrick Dearen and Grace & Gumption:
The Women of El Paso
, edited by Marcia Daudistel, both received publication awards from the
San Antonio Conservation Society.

 

Texas Tales Illustrated: The Revolution (2011), by Mike Kearby and Mack White, won the 2012 Will
Rogers Medallion Award for Young Adult Western Fiction, and TCU Press received a
2012 Will Rogers Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Publishing of Western
Fiction.
